INSPECTION OF EGR PIPE GEOMETRY IN 3D SPACE

MV Center engineers have developed a semi-automatic station for measuring the geometry of the EGR pipe. The station has been equipped with a rotary table with a mounting socket and a cage for a precise (+/- 0.02 mm positioninaccuracy) MITSUBISHI RV-7FLM robot. An execution unit for the measurement, a GOCATOR 2340 3D scanner, was installed on the robot effector.

The function of the circuit was:
  • Checking the quality of the input and output flanges of the pipe (flatness inspection),
  • positioning of embossing on the pipe in relation to the measuring base (input flange),
  • checking the position of the mounting elements (hooks, clamps, pressure probe) in 3D space in relation to the same base,
  • checking the position of the surface of the entrance flange to the output flange;

The cycle time of the station takes about 60 seconds, during which measurements are performed in more than 20 reference points and 3 surfaces are scanned (flanges + handle).

TThe station supports 3 references, each workpiece is marked with an individual QR code and the measurement report is generated in PDF format. The NOK workpieces are locked in the superordinate system and must be deposited by the operator in a special zone.
