Vision inspection system for household appliance panel
Application name: Print control and barge in the AGD panels.
Scope of Inspection:
- the inclusion control (from 0,1 mm) on the panel material and in the display window,
- control of printing errors (overprinting) – losses, underprinting, smudged overprint, inconsistent overprint, wrong position of overprint
Developing an application for control of printing on pad-printed panels for household appliances presents a challenge due to a large number of different references and small sizes of typical defects (inclusions, underprinting) – detection of defects of size >=0.1 mm is often required.
Therefore, it is necessary to configure the camera, optics and lighting in the hardware layer so that the obtained images are evenly lit across the panel (often of irregular shape). In the software layer, in turn, it is important to create an appropriate programming environment that will allow the user to intuitively add new references without the need for lengthy programming. Panels are made in many versions both in terms of content and layout of prints (different hardware functions) and language (many versions of the same panel in different languages).
The presented application for the inspection of panels mounted in household appliances consists of several steps: the first task of the system is to read the QR code present on the panel and load the corresponding program (reference). Then a unique code for the cart is read from the RFID cube on the assembly cart, to which the photo and inspection results will be assigned. Subsequently, the panel is scanned with a line camera (this project uses a DATALOGIC M565 camera with 4096 px in-line resolution) – the photo is triggered by an optical sensor, while the signal to trigger subsequent lines is taken from an encoder.
An inspection is performed on the image acquired in this way and the data is stored in a buffer and assigned to an RFID code.
As the cart enters the operator station, the its code is read once again and the appropriate data is retrieved from the buffer and displayed.
The operator receives inspection results and the faults are displayed and highlighted on the operator panel.
After printing a sticker with barcode, it is read by a reader and a report containing all data and inspection results is saved.
Both the programming environment and the operator panel are in English, which makes the usage of the application so much easier. You can also select a different language.
With the remote monitoring and management system, you can easily connect to the station to check the system, change its parameters, service it or implement a new product without having to come to the customer.
